‘This decision is also intended to provide guidance to FtT judges on the continuing applicability of the decision in Tanveer Ahmed (Documents unreliable and forged) Pakistan* [2002] UKIAT 00439 (“Tanveer Ahmed“). In light of rapid developments in the use of Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) to generate and manipulate documents and images that are increasingly difficult to distinguish from genuine documents and images we reaffirm the principled approach established in Tanveer Ahmed and conclude that the Tanveer Ahmed principles apply equally in non-protection/human rights appeals.’
