‘Administrative justice ensures that everyday decisions made by government bodies and public authorities, from healthcare services and welfare benefits to school admissions and planning permits, are fair and lawful. While we tend to imagine courtrooms and criminal trials when we think about justice systems, administrative justice operates in the everyday spaces we all enter. It establishes the rules, standard procedures, and appeal mechanisms (like tribunals and ombudsmen) that strive to make these structures just—and in doing so build public confidence and improve government effectiveness.’
