‘As artificial intelligence expands into the legal information profession, law librarians are confronted with the tension between the adoption of emerging technologies with an outsized environmental impact and sustainability. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a blueprint to achieve a better future for all and seek a balance between economic growth, social inclusion, and the environment. The SDGs can serve as a framework for law librarians as they navigate adoption of AI in the face of rapid alterations to the environment from climate change. This article suggests several methods to incorporate sustainable AI practices into law libraries, leveraging the framework of the SDGs.’
